Our memorial to
“Socks”
|
Socks
On the night of April
18, 2006, Dottie (LS Poco Dot Spot) lost her first foal due to
dystocia. The foaling was long and
difficult, and the baby could not live through the prolonged labor. The baby was a filly, and her white
markings were a small spot on her neck, and long white stockings. We named her “Socks”, and hope that she is
bucking and playing in the green fields of Horse Heaven.

Lenas Diamond
Bonanza
Breeze (Cajun Breezing Miss) gave birth to this beautiful,
healthy filly, on June 3, 2006,
just after midnight. Diamond is by Lenas Diamond Chex, an own
son of the great Doc O’Lena. Diamond
is a very flashy sorrel Tobiano, with quite a bit of roan. It is already obvious that this filly is
destined to be a reiner. She runs in
big circles, little circles, and charges up to a fence at full speed, only to
stop inches in front of the fence.
This is one of the sweetest, most willing horses we have ever had the
pleasure to work with. She is
currently being worked in a round pen, and is proving to be very smart and
quick to pick up on new training. We
are hoping to send Diamond to a reining trainer and show her, and then have
her join our broodmare band.
